Meet Yeo Jing Yi
Welcome back for September’s Employee Spotlight. For those of you new to this, we choose a Beyondsoft employee and ask them questions about their role in the company, as well as a few “just for fun” questions, so our readers get the chance to learn more about the incredible people who make up our team. This month, we are featuring another member from our Southeast Asia subsidiary. Meet Jing Yi
Introduction of myself
I am Yeo Jing Yi, most of my colleagues call me Jingyi or JY, and I am based in Beyonsoft Singapore office. I started my career in the recruitment field when I joined Beyondsoft, and before this I was working as business/sales ops related.
Marketing: What do you like most about your job? Is there a unique (or fun) project you’ve been working on that you can talk about?
Answer: The ever changing and constant challenges that comes with different projects / clients. Different projects may have similar requirements, but with slight difference in key requirements. Some of the projects that I am involved with would require me to identify and source for candidates that are based in Singapore, Malaysia and even India. And the roles that I have worked on would vary from Engineering related roles to IT related roles.
Marketing: We can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeves! What advice would you give to recent new hires?
Answer: The first few months can be tough, especially coming from different industry of different background, learning curve can be steep but very satisfying once able to pick up. So during the first few months, try to learn and understand as much as you can , and seek advise from team members when you are unclear.
Marketing: Do you work in-office or remote? What are your biggest productivity tips for that environment?
Answer: I work in office with the rest of my Singapore team members. In terms of productivity tips, it would be to list down the tasks that needs to be clear. This may sound silly, but we get various emails and tasks as our working day progresses. So listing down the tasks would really help to keep track and remind ourselves on what needs to be cleared.Marketing: What is your philosophy?
Answer: “Work smart, play hard”. At work, there are many ways to achieve the same result. Find the most suitable and most productivity way , and after giving your 110% at work, also give 110% to yourself to rest and recharge
Marketing: What’s your MBTI?
Answer: My MBTI is Architect
Marketing: Recommendation time: Is there anything you currently love and want to share? This can be a podcast, book, tv show, music, activity – you name it!
Answer: All-time favourite would be movies, any genres of movie. It can be comedy, sci-fi, action or even horror. It is a good way to rest and recharge.
